USA! USA! USA…!

So I have finished my thesis; I can finally breathe now. Now I play the waiting game to see how I did… *fingers crossed*

I know I said I’ll be back to blogging after all this madness but I have decided to take a holiday to the US (mainly California) for about 2.5 weeks. I’m leaving next Saturday, I can’t wait!  Up on the itinerary will be San Francisco, San Diego, LA, Vegas and Grand Canyon.

If anyone has suggestions on where I should eat in these cities, feel free to let me know.

Phuoc

PS I will be back to my blogging days when I get back, I promise! (I think I should weigh myself before I go to see how many kilos I’ll put on)

Ooh, how exciting! I love America.
If you’re planning to head to Disneyland make sure you check out:
    – Churros! There’s carts everywhere and you can’t get better tasting churros anywhere
    – Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney
    – The Blue Bayou

They’re not fine dining affairs, but the food is delicious and fun 😀

I could go on and on and on.. I’m a Disney freak – Been there on 5 different trips and refuse to spend less than a week at the parks.

And don’t worry too much about gaining weight! If you’re anything like me when I travel, you’ll probably do ALOT of walking.

    Have a great trip.

Woohoo! Good to have you back! See you tomorrow! 😀

    Congratulations on finishing the thesis!!!

I’m no so good on my west coast eateries. I’d suggest:
    – Bouchon at the Venetian casino in Vegas. Run by the same people as the French Laundry.
    – Cheesecake factory at the top of Macy’s in San Fran for; well you can probably guess…
    – Chipotle take-aways for a tasty and quick burritto. It’s a chain so you should see them all over. Don’t have too many if you are worried about putting on weight! 😉

When you are in Vegas don’t just stay on the strip, but make sure you head down to ‘Old’ Vegas one night as well to casino’s like the Freemont and Golden Nugget. (No food suggestions, just go for the experience.)

Kristy: Yeah I’m going to Disnetland! Can’t wait! Are these churros better than the ones from San Churros??

    Maria: Party!

Richard: Looks like I might not be doing Vegas after all now.. My cousins can’t take me. But that’s fine.. All the more excuse to go another time 🙂 I’ve heard of this cheesecake factory, very interesting.

Anh: Thanks! Keep at it; it’s worth it in the end.

Mark: Oh there will be lots of rejoicing tonight!

@Phouc – I wouldn’t stress to much about missing Vegas. It’s one of those places where expectation is better than reality.

    Hi Phuoc!

I was in San Francisco a couple of months ago and these are my hot tips:

    – Eat Burritos in the Mission District
    – Visit Tartine Bakery (600 Guerrero Street), arguably the best bakery in the US
    – Gorge on Pancakes and Fried Bacon @ Sear’s Fine Foods (439 Powell St)
    – Indulge in Clam Chowder @ Pier 39
    – Try tasty Vietnamese @ Slanted Door (1 Ferry Building)
    – Fantastic French @ La Folie (2316 Polk Street)
    – Fine-dining @ Gary Danko (800 North Point Street)

There are some posts of food in San Francisco on my blog: http://www.theyoungfoodie.blogspot.com

    Enjoy your trip!!
