Taking some time out

17 April 2010
by Phuoc

From now until the end of May I will be extremely busy; busy going insane from completing my experiments and writing up my thesis! So unfortunately I won’t be able to update this blog. My little European holiday project is not finished yet as I had a few flops but I am still in the process of trying to perfect them; those posts will come eventually.  I had plans of posting collages from my European holiday during this time but haven’t been able to do that either! I can’t wait for all of this to be over and I’m definitely looking forward to my well-deserved break and being able to bake again.

See you all later (don’t miss me too much :P),

Phuoc

This is my first attempt of macarons (the following 2 attempts were failed attempts). Basic macarons with a chocolate ganache.

Phuoc, good luck with the thesis writing. I know how difficult and demanding the process can be – had several mental breakdowns while working on mine! Stay focused and I’ll be here when you’re ready to post again 🙂

p/s: Did you bake those macarons? They look gorgeous!

if you tap the bottom of the tray after piping the macaron puffs you’ll be able to get rid of the little bumps on top 😉

    best of luck darling!!
    don’t stress too much.. hehe

Simon: HAHA I hope I have a productive time off too 😛

Foodwink: Thank you so much! I had a few breakdowns in the past few weeks but it’s a matter of picking myself up from that and moving forward. I think it’s the passage we have to go through right? It’s nice to know someone I’ve never met before is so supportive (awww… warm and fuzzy feeling inside)!

And yes, that was my first attempt of the macarons. The attempts after that didn’t turn out so well (back to square one). I think it was just beginner’s luck.

    Cathy: Hi! I did do that… :S

Amy: HAHA Don’t stress.. Me? I hate the word and try to not be; but this has tested me and pushed me off limits but just as long as I can return back then all is good. We’re going to party hard afterwards!

Well I guess some aren’t lucky enough to do it full-time 🙂 I like it as a hobby as it breaks up everything that is crazy in my life; but for the moment, thesis is my priority… Well stay tune for it as I will update sometime in June 🙂 Expect Paris and more of Italy 🙂
