My first guest post for Shez of One Bite More sees me making an irresistible Italian pastry called Sfogliatelle.
Individual serves of buttery and crispy pastry encasing a sweet and tangy rhubarb filling. These turnovers may also make perfect gifts as well.
Seeking inspiration from a tart I had at Black Star Pastry. Buttery and crumbly pastry shell is filled with a luscious vanilla bean and cinnamon poached pear puree and topped with a simple but morish crumble mixture.
The second lot of desserts I baked up for Dario’s food photography session. Chocolate and hazelnuts are a match made in foodie heaven. This tart was discovered on my recent trip to San Francisco where I discovered the wonderful joys of Tartine Bakery.

A quick and simple treat to whip up; I loved the caramelised cinnamon smell when I took these babies out of the oven. Trust me when I say that you won’t be able to stop at one (I scoffed down 5 in a matter of minutes!)
A wonderful mix of cinnamon and nuts in pastry dough; your fingers may get sticky from the sugar syrup but it makes it even better..
